Belkin N plus and dungeon and dragons online (DDO)

I just spent the last 6 hours trying to figure out why my toon was lagging so badly in DDO. I thought it was the Belkin N plus router I just installed. As it turns out, it was the new ice skating area they installed in the harbor area which caused the massive lag. Moved into the market place, the lag was gone. So hear hear.

iphone 3Gs

I recently received my iphone 3GS via a vodafone upgrade. Many of you who know me know how anti apple I've been over the years while secretly wishing some other product maker will come up with something just as good.  When the ipod came out, I went with creative zen (twice). And when iphone first came out, I went with HTC touch 2 and eventually the really crappy (gawd I wish I didn't buy it ) Samsung Omnia. To be honest with you, it was the free upgrade from vodafone that really tempted me.

So here I am 3 weeks on and shamelessly and totally loving it. What really sold the product to me was the interface, the beautiful screen and some really cool apps. It's the mobile internet toy that I've wanted for years. With the vodafone bundle, I get 2 gig download, which is perfect. It's great to have with you when you want to read up a review on something expensive that you're just about to impulse buy.

Anyways, last night I updated my aging netgear router with a belkin N plus router. The signal just wasn't strong enough on the ol netgear. The problem was after I did that, I could not log onto the belkin router with the iphone wireless. It keeps telling me that the password is wrong ( this is despite me typing it in at least 2 dozens times)  I then spent hours reading up the net to find out what the heck is wrong ( was it the belkin ? seemingly there's lots of negative feeling towards belkin products out there!) or was it the iphone?

Eventually the solution one poster suggested was reset the iphone. ( why do electronic/software products always end up in resets as a fix it solution? ) . So I reset the network settings and retype the password.
It worked after that. 3 hours of net searching, checking the belkin modem config section or a 1 minute solution. Time not well spent.

Dragon Age Origin

Just got Dragon Age Origin last Friday. Have been gaming it solidly since. I hear people who finish the game in 60 hours or less. I don't know how as I would have definitely put in over 60 hours at this stage. But I'm nearing the end anyways. Call of Duty 2 is out! And I have Empire Total War to play still ( only just got it ). All these games to play and my 6 months break is about to come to an end. Sigh, as the wife says, I'm gonna have some shock when i start work in January. Did I mention I will be heading home to Malaysia for 4 weeks in a week's time? Hooray!

Stupid Japanese Heroes

Ok, I'm referring to the game Lost Odessey. I can't stand how all the stupid male characters have got tis strand of hair that passes for a pissant of a fringe. It's just stupidly annoying and it's not cool.

Time to start again perhaps

Happy New Year. 2008 has been a really busy year. Somewhat stressed out here in some ways but I've survived it. That's what that counts. Here's to 2009. I'm already miserable.

More photos for recent shoots.

The above are just some new pics I've uploaded to flickr. There are from some of my recent photography projects. In fact, photography is the only thing that keeps me sane at the moment but I'm getting a little frustrated because I am not getting the pics I really want. However, still manage to get some local fans at work who have invited me round their place to take pictures of their children.

Oh yeah, wedding in about 4 weeks. Holy Shit.

I've been real quiet

I've been really lazy when it comes to posting. It's now April and my last post was 1st of January. No, nothing bad happened to me. I just kinda lost interest for a while. Didn't feel like there was anything worthwhile to say or write about. I have however been busy. My new obession for the year has been photography. I've been upgrading my photography gear like crazy this year. It's not quite a hobby anymore, it's more like a habit. Hello everybody, I'm Sam and I'm a lensaholic.

Ok, there's a good reason why I'm been going crazy with camera gear, I want to do photography part time, specialising in potrait, weddings and lifestyle photography.

I even have my own wedding photography business website : http://www.wakphotography.com/ though you'd be better off going to my flickr site www.flickr.com/photos/krispy_rabbit for the bulk of my pics, if you're interested that is.

And then there's my own wedding in just about 3 months. The preparations are going ok, the wife to be has got it all under control, so I've been informed.

Well, this is like a token post. I'm going back to ebay to look for the next must buy.

1st post from Mullingar

Well, here I am writing my 1st post of the new year in Mullingar. Moved into a shared house, seems quite nice. Now we just have to see how things pan out over the next few weeeks.

Good mates of mine, Hazel and Barry have just got married over the weekend and are now in South Africa enjoying their honeymoon. They've asked me to be their 2nd photographer for the wedding. Here are some examples of the pictures taken from their wedding. All shot with the Sony Alpha 100, mainly with the KM 28-70mm (D) f2.8 lens. Post processed in photoshop CS2.
